Which camera for my needs

I mainly shoot video, but i still get calls for alot of parties, mainly candid shots, informal, not wedding oriented/thank god.

So i need a good camera for that type of stuff, easy to use, great pics.
I shoot all manual on my sony HD cameras, but id be curious if on the sony A63/6500 if i need to learn all the manual settings or for the type of stuff id be shooting, will the shots look good going all auto?
I was looking at the A6300 till the 65 came out, which has a 55/210 lens kits or a 16/50 lens kit.
I really dont need to invest in alot of lens' just want one that best fits the type of shoots ill be doing.
Im sure ill shoot some HD/4k with it when i dont feel like lugging my Sony ex1r.
Any helpful input welcome
Jim

Are you mostly filming indoors? What type of lighting is used (ie: controlled, low-light, etc.)?

gary most of the events are parties, indoors, requiring flash on camera. how good is that small flash on the camera?i also have the nikon sb800 flash.

like i said, its for informal type events, candid shots.

The a6500 is a great camera, with amazing features. That said, the pop-up flash is not going to be very useful for more than just a couple of shots. It's not very powerful and should not be considered as a workhorse. The SB800 flash, being a Nikon, is not compatible, so you'll need a Sony dedicated flash for effective use. There is a bit of a learner curve with Sony if you're coming from Nikon, but the Auto modes are very good if you're just starting with it and want solid results right away.

Ive seen a review on youtube where the topic was using other flashes on the 6500. This guy specifically used and it worked fine, the SB800. Showed it flashing fine.

Im sure sony wants u to buy theirs.
