Creating Dark Backgrounds Using Flash

This is probably one of the most common complaints about digital flash, yet the easiest to fix.  It’s called, “synchro-flash” technique where you hard-set the f-stop (using TTL and shooting on Manual mode) and vary the shutter speed to mix in more or less background light.  In using HSS (high speed sync) you can even shoot flash at 1/8000sec, which removes all limitations in mixing daylight!
